What is the best way to clean the inside of a gas tank. The tank is out of the truck.

That's been discussed a lot in the past Charley. If you do a search using gas tank in the search box you'll find hours of good reading. Good luck. thumbs_up

Have somebody do it for you. I found it is worth the money.

+1

Radiator shops would steam or boil gas tanks in my area. They have the infrastructure to deal with the stinky dregs that usually come out during the cleaning process...something to think about.

Buying a Sptra Premium new tank will be a sure fix and they are quite reasonable.

Absolutely Ken, only way to go in my opinion. The time you will waste trying to save a piece of scrap iron just isn't worth it in this case. And there's a real good chance that you’ll have a problem some time in the near future by trying to save a rusted out tank.
The Spectra tanks are hardly distinguishable from the original tanks. I just went thru that exercise Charley with a friends half ton AD. Don't even try to use one of those off shore fuel tanks, they’re nothing but trouble.

Alas, the joy of having tanks repopped....sigh. I didn't have that option unfortunately. They can be saved but, as noted above, the process can be daunting.
