owner - Jeff D. Nelson, Glenwood Springs, CO

Bought the truck in 1980 for $400 when I was living in Cut Bank, Mt. I had it parked for almost 27 years in storage before I started fixing it up and got it running. I want to restore it as near to original as I can. It's a daily driver for me now here in Glenwood. It has a 228 cu.in. original 6-cyl. with about 38,000. miles on it. The truck is in very good shape and not much has been changed on it. I have had to re-build all four brakes and the front end. Lots of tinkering with the timing, distributor, carb and setting the valves, but she's a driver, day in and day out.

Looking forward to using Stovebolt in my labor of love...

thanks,
Jeff D. Nelson

link to my album on photobucket, I hope this works, I'm not a real tech-no with the computer.

Yes the link works. Good looking rustic truck.

NICE! I love it as is. I wouldn't feel as though you need to anything to it at all. Just enjoy!

I've got a '49 that looks nearly identical to your truck, same condition, same colour, but mine's got the long bed and it's been partially disassembled by some well meaning but none-too-clever previous owner.

If it's no trouble, would you mind taking some more pictures of the truck to aid my reassembly? I can find loads of pics of Chevy's but the GMC's are fewer.

Areas in particular that would be helpful, (because they're in pieces) are:

- the radiator, especially the upper and lower supports and brackets
- the underhood wire routings
- the carb linkage/throttle and choke cables

That's more or less the worst of it, I'd really appreciate it. In return, have a look at mine if you're interested, although it's already in the gallery.

Sure I will try and send a few photo's. I'm not the handyest on the computer but will give it a try.
