Ran across this listing and I'm wondering if there is any reason I couldn't pull the hose off this and use it with my truck. The only thing I could think of would be that it's meant more for single (few) uses and not beefy enough for the FT? But then again it's not like I'm actually putting the truck in service either. This would be more for the occasional time I want to play.

My other concern was if these type of hoses were meant for the kind of pressure that the truck pump can put out?

He actually has one of the hoses without the rack as well that he's offering me now, which is a better deal since I just want the hose anyway. He says it's 50 foot.

Oh heck yeah, I don't know about the pressure issues, but my gut says that hose would handle a good bit. What kind of pressure will you truck make? Beyond that the brass is beautiful.

first off, it is a indoor hose station that you would see in a public place.
second, it it only a single jacketed hose.
third, aint worth no 100 bucks.

for playing around it would work for a while depending on how you play. me personally i like a double jacketed hoses because my truck is in service everytime i come out of the garage with it. if its hose your looking for go to any fire stations in your area and tellthem what your doing and youll be able to get some off of them. you might even get it for free. too bad your so far away or id give you some hose like i did the other guy on the site here. im not sure if i gave him all my nozzles.

bty which truck in your garage is classified as the chariot?

Like was said before main thing is that it is a single jacket hose and could be cut or snagged easier with outdoor use. You could put enough pressure on it to play but be careful as that nozzle does not have a shut off on it and if you want to use that nozzle someone would have be at the truck at all times. Thanks guys, that's exactly the info I was looking for, I thought that would be the case. The pump is a Barton front mounted pump.
I'm in the process of buying Ed Hover's truck (DaOzTinman) Here's his pictures.
The current status of the truck is the tank has been removed for repair. In the process Ed figured out that the tank wasn't worth repairing so he started cutting the top off it to make it just an open "Parade" bed. My plan is to go ahead and finish that up and make it so I can set a Poly tank (Like we use at the farm) up in it for when we actually want to transport water with it. So I suppose it's technically going to go from being a tanker/pumper to just a pumper? If I have my terminology right? Ashton what classifies a chariot? I know I have a lot to learn.
I think I'm going to go ahead and pick up the hose and hanger from the guy, at the least it will get hung up in the garage.

a chariot is something that is pulled with two or more horses. a rider or riders stand on the back as it goes into battle. this is a term i use when responding to a call with a modern truck minus the riders on the back and seated in an enclosed cab.

since you have more than two horses and have a rear tail board, yup you have a chariot. i wasnt sure which truck was your chariot until you added the link. i like the looks of the truck. you have the earlier version of john's gmc.

Very cool, I knew what a chariot (The horse kind) was just wasn't sure it it was a fire truck specific terminology.
When it warms up here, I'm looking forward to picking it up and getting going on it.

I'll look tonight at my meeting to see if we have anything anyone would interested in that the "superiors" wanna part with. I thought we had an old booster reel with hose laying around somewhere taking up space.

Here is a link to a craigslist seller that has hose, reels, and nozzels from a GM plant. Prices are good at $20-$30 for 100 ft inlcuding reel.
