I was looking at getting a fiberglass headliner for my '41 art-deco truck and painting it. I was wondering what kind of prep work should i do before painting it. Also, i was planning on painting with a dupont acrylic enamel. Is this a good idea? Do I need a self etching primer as if I was painting bare metal, or is there something better for glass?

Thanks for the help, I am learning as i go, don't know much now!

I don't know if a liner for a 41 is smooth or textured or what type of glass it is.
I'll assume it's smooth. Clean it well and scuff it down to remove any glaze. Spray it with a fiberglass sealer, prime it, and wet sand it with 600 or 400.
If it's textured then just scuff it with a scotch brite pad. It's ready for paint.
Acrylic enamel is fine.
