What is involved with a 250 swap, is it only the engine mounts that need to be changed, the front mount for a side mount? Is it also longer in length than the 235? Thanks.

235 is taller than 250; makes a little change to the exhaust pipe connection & changes fan location @ radiator. As well I think its a little longer; witch will also change fan to radiator relationship. (Anybody feel free to correct me here if I'm wrong) you will also need a different bellhousing to match the new engine up with your transmission.

A lot depends on what year truck it is going in.

And what transmission you plan to use.

That makes it easier. Someone makes V-8 mounts for that car, wish I could remember who. I'd buy the V-8 mounts and a transmission cross member and use whatever bell housing came with the motor and go that route.

The 230/250 will mount just like a Chevy V-8. The 292 is different.

The 250 is approximately 1" longer than the 235, measuring from the back of the block where the bellhousing bolts on, to the front of the cramkshaft pulley. Both bellhousings are about 6 1/2" deep. Positioning of the assembly front/rear with custom motor mounts will be necessary due to the differences in mounting hardware.
