Does anybody know of any supplier that have a back-up switch,I have a 55 2 series 3 on the tree they mount on the steering column and are activated by the gear shift shaft ,when put in reverse, I have the mounting bracket, perhaps someone has found another switch that will go in the mount. and do the trick Thanks

There was a switch and a bracket that mounted to the shift handle, and made contact only when the trans was in reverse. It's a pretty rare item, IIRC. I've seen OEM parts list that show the 4-speed switch and bracket, but I've never actually seen one in use.

hotrod, do you think that 4spd switch for a 50' is something i could get from the stealership?

These switches show up on ebay from time to time. They look like a little bullet.

I bought an NOS set 8-10 years ago. It had the set up for both the 3 speed and 4 speed. I have the 3 speed (column shift) set up on the 55 2nd and the 4 speed (SM420) on the 48 3100.

Back-up lights are nice when in the city. It lets city people know when you are backing up. City people don't have much sense.
