I'm sure this is going to be a dumb question, but I just can't figure this out. I got a oil pressure line + fittings at NAPA, part # 701-2154. It comes with the fittings and 6ft of copper line. How in the heck do I get the fittings to fit on the ends of the lines?? They slide onto the line, but a little bit of force and they come right off! I assumed the nuts were compression nuts and would hold the fittings on, but they don't. What am I missing here?

Are you tightening the cone caps onto the bases in the kit or onto existing fittings on your vehicle?

I used new 1/8" copper tubing with original-style 1/8" threaded sleeve nuts from NAPA (WH 6100X2 Weatherhead-Eaton) .

it's a compression fitting. there should be another piece that screws into the block and then that piece of copper with the nut and compression fitting screw into. when you tighten them they will seal.If you don't like that one get a 1/8 ferrule from the hardware store and use it instead of the fitting you have pictured.

If you need a standard compression sleeve for 1/8" tubing, NAPA WH 60X2 should work. As Tommy indicated, these should also be available at any good hardware store.
