While fitting an air cleaner , I noticed my carb. measures 2 5/8" across the top. The one barrel aftermarket aircleaner was 2 1/4". So are there 2 sizes of one barrels for these engines?

which air cleaner did you get? one specifically listed for this engine, from one of the classic chevy parts vendors?

I bought the air cleaner from the truckshop of orange California. The catalog said 1 barreel, so I assumed it would fit mine. Mistake, a simple mearsurement was in order. Oh well, Never had a problem with the stock carb so not thinking of any changes
