first, what did you do with the lines that you originally took off?
second, the lines you took off put them back on.

the funny looking tee that screws into the main oil galley, the opening that points up to the head takes a 3/16 tubing. on the head there is a 1" long fitting that has a 1/16" orifice in it. the tube goes from the main galley to the fitting on the head. its the fitting at the head that does the restriction. i wouldnt alter the design of the gmc oiling system other than to do the
modification of an add on full flow filtering system to get rid of the bypass filter.

you might think that the 1/16th hole is too small but its not. you'll get more than enough oil to the rockers. the oil pump on my 40 with a 228 puts out 40 psi going down the road and its still the original engine. the rebuilt 270 in the Ashton puts out 50-55 psi.

the gmc oil pump on a 270 at normal operating speeds will put out 6.5 gpm.

here http://www.oldgmctrucks.com/page0289.html shows the correct method for the plumbing. you may want to look around over there for more info about your 270.

If you are looking for the line to the line to the oil filter, it is available from Jim Carter p/n MEB141

the rubber hose is for the filter. the oil line to the rockers is hard piped or at least thats how both of mine are.
depending on how the tubing was formed it can be hard to get the treads to start. what i do is to make sure both ends are started before tightening them. when you tighten just one end tight it pulls the other end out of catty wampum.
