The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Trying to decode my tag

I found the tag for my truck in the parts and debris scattered in the Heil dump body. The truck is a 1936 GMC with a 133 1/2" wheel base. The tag reads; Model # T-16 LA, Chassis # 11876, Straight rating 7000. I've been on google for a few hours. This is what I believe to be true T-16 = 1 1/2 to 2 ton. L A ?? Straight rating = max gvw.
7000 seems light some how?? Anyone??

Go look at www.OldGMCTrucks.com. Not the forums but the web site. There is information there about how to interpret GMC serial numbers.

Thanks OldSub, I've searched through and the info stops at 39. I will do a deeper search tomorrow.
