I've got several sources for V8 numbers, but I've got several unlabeled six-cylinder cranks that I need to id so someone can adopt them.

Anybody got a list, or know a source?

Thanks

Oilrag, that looks interesting. I'll pull those numbers this evening.

Here's some of the numbers (can't id maker on these):
212
21355416
2191127
4095246
414699
3876802
3820618
3855914

These are part of a truckload of unclaimed cranks from a closed machine shop. I've got everything from an inline 8 to a Caterpillar 2-cylinder

Right now I'm just trying to get a reliable list of numbers so I can put these poor cranks up for adoption cool

Thanks for the help -- but that raises a follow-up question: were all the cranks with the same casting number ( 2191127 ) forged?

I've confirmed one is forged, but there are several others I haven't checked.

It seems from what I've seen that cast and forged cranks would generally have different numbers, but I'm wondering.

Listed as "crank forging" #'s.

1939-52 had Dome Pistons, 5/8"
Block casting # for the 228 CI is 6107326.
Block casting # for the 248 CI is 6107328.

Both used crank forging # 6107342 or 2191127.
Both used head casting # 2136477 or 6107412.

1953 -248 CI had Flat Pistons. Same block, same crank forging #, head casting # 2194819.
