The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop Flywheel Cover for 216

The only flywheel cover I could find for my 216 engine was this one on ebay . When it came, my mechanic determined that its too small for my 216. He said its 1 inch too short on the sides and 1.2 inch too short on the top. He also said part of it hits against a cross-member when snugged up to the flywheel. (If this isnt for a 216, then what engine DOES this flywheel cover fit?)

Is it possible that the flywheel cover i ordered was originally created for a regular 216 transmission, where mine according to the engine block # was originally classified as an "HD" transmission?

Also, where in the world can i get a flywheel cover that will fit mine? I have the shield, but missing the flywheel cover.

I think that a cover for a car is different than for a truck with a 216. One cover is flat and the other is beveled. I think that the cover shown on your link is for a car. The truck cover is flat on both ends.

I just got an update from the guy i bought it from... he said it is for a car.

So where do yall think i can find a flywheel cover for a 216 truck? (LMC has them on backorder four weeks, so id like to get it sooner) Thanks
