Anybody have any diagrams or photos on how the horn button is assembled? I think I have all the parts, but can't figure out how it all works. Shouldn't there be some sort of spring-action? I've got shop manual and the factory assembly manual, but they've been no help.

I can't help you, because I did it by trial and error when I rebuilt my horn assembly. I do know the metal disc has a slight bow to it, which is where the spring action comes from. The copper "bullet" contact thing has a spring on it too, if I remember correctly.

Here's a tip that WILL help you--disconnect the horn wire or pull the fuse when you put it back together. I did it at night, and my wife finally came out and chewed me out for sitting in the driveway tooting the horn for 20 minutes!

Hi. If you go to the truckandcarshop.com, look in the 1960-72 catalog, in the horn section, there is a picture that shows the general layout. I couldn't figure out mine, and when I saw this, it dawned on me. I can't remember where the spacer ring goes - the one with the three half circles cut out of the perimiter, but if you try it above or below the spring plate, when it is right, you will know it. Also, you may have to flip the spring plate up or down as well.
