The gas gauge that came out of the warning light cluster was #5644548. The gauge that came in the factory gauges was #5643018. When I converted over, everything worked but the gas gauge. I put all new wiring in front to back and New sending unit. I used the gas gauge out of the warnng lights because it was proven to work and in much better shape. My question is...do you think my gauge isn't working because of the different numbers? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 | If you purchased a new sending unit, you may have gotten the 0-90 ohm unit, that is commonly sold...you need a 0-30 ohm sending unit to be compatible with your factory gas gauge. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 426 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 426 | Double checked. Got the 0-30ohm unit. The 63 shop manual shows the pink wire on the right for the factory gauges and on the left for warning lights. As your looking at the front of the gauge. Any thoughts on this? | | | | | Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 321 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 321 | You could try and switch the way it's hooked up and see if it makes a difference. I can't imagine why it would hook up differently, but anything is possible.

Im going to lose light in an hour here, so in the morning ill put the volt meter on it and follow the line back til I hit power. The volt reducer is on the left post if your looking at the gauge, so the pink should go to that. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 321 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 321 | Well there ya' go...
