I have a 216 engine in my 51 3100. Ive googled and looked on eBay, but no luck. Anybody have any ideas where i can get one? Much appreciated. It might be possible to repair the one you have, unless it is severely damaged, rusted out, etc. The only other option would probably be to find someone with a junker 216 or early 235 who would be willing to sell you the part. It's a pretty simple piece, which should be able to be fabricated with a little effort. The tough part would be getting the spring tension on the bypass valve right.

Jerry Well, im not exactly sure whats wrong with it... my mechanic tells me what parts to get and I find them. Hes not internet savvy and anytime he uses to research parts is time he's not working on my engine! But that sounds like a reasonable option to fix it provided the spring tension is right.

| | | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 61 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 61 | OK, so i asked my mechanic to clarify what the problem with the oil distributor is and he said he doesnt know if the oil distributor is working or not, but if there is a new part available I could use it. He said he doesnt want to take off the oil distributor until its respective replacement gaskets are here to seal it back up with (shipping as we speak).
Since the overall problem with the engine has been the failure of the oil to get all the way up to the rockers, he thinks the oil distributor may be contributing to the overall problem.
But today the new oil pump arrives and he will put that in and if the new oil pump works, then I would guess the oil distributor is working fine... hes also cleared every other path for the oil all the way up.
So thats what is going on.... this is all somewhat new to me so forgive me if my nomenclature is incorrect. Thanks again.
