Does anyone know if 65's came with factory cab lights. Mine has the holes where the lights would mount but I didnt know if it was factory or not. Thanks.

Normally a pick-up or 1-Ton did not have them. I believe they were an option only. I'm not sure if you could order them from the factory or not, but you could get them installed by the dealer. Large trucks (2 1/2 Ton and larger) seemed to always have them and I would say that they were standard equipment.

It would be really hard to say if yours are factory or dealer installed or not. The only way to prove if they were owner installed is if they did a poor job and were in the wrong position, but I guess it would be possible for a dealer to do a poor job too.

The holes in the cab are cut really well and are all identical. If they were cut by someone they did a terrific job. I have never seen cab lights though in any catalog like LMC or others.

The original style Cab Lights are Yankee 77's. They should still be available new. If you can't find any from a vendor, you should be able to find some by searching online.

BTW, are the positions located as 3 close to each other in the center and 1 on each end positioned on an angle?

The RPO (regular production option) is listed as V75 and is indicated as "Hazard and Marker Lights", from the "Radiator, Bumper, and Miscellaneous Final Assembly Equipment" Equipment Group, pulled from the CHEVROLET Truck Data Book of November 1, 1965.

I put cab lights on my 64 C-30. The hardest part is chasing the wires! I used an old speedometer cable, as they will bend an conform, but you can still "push" on them pretty hard. It was time consuming to say the least, but was worth it! Good luck........

I have several of the NOS factory Yankee 77 clearance lights, including the NOS boxes, wiring, hardware and installation instructions...if anyone needs any.

I have found a brown wire already installed in some cabs. Reach up around the filler neck area inside of the cab and feel around. Waterproof those lights around the holes you drill in the roof, the gaskets don't seal 100% and lets water in that will rust above the windshield.

The brown wire around the filler neck is the power for the fuel tank sender. The orange and white wires around the filler neck are for the dome light. The power for the cab clearance lights, per the dealer instruction sheet runs up the "A" pillar and connects to the lights in series.

This wire has all the bullet connectors attached and run's across the front of the roof line between the outer and inner panel from the passenger side to the drivers side. From there it travels towards the back of the cab then down the rear post and is bundled up and suspended waiting for a connection to the fuse panel. The roof is not drilled for the lights but the wire is in place. You might try removing the sunvisor on the drivers side and fishing around for the wire. When you drill the large diameter hole for passing the connectors through to connect the lights, fish around between the two panels and you might just find the wiring already in place.
