What I needed was a recommendation by some that have bought and installed. How well or hard the installation went; would they make the purchase from a different vendor if they were to need another set.

I was rewiring my entire truck and replacing the guages at the same time. Take everything out that you can. The radio and speaker grill definitely are in the way.It is a great upgrade though. I used the newport motor and it fit right in. The clips were a bugger though.

Both the speaker opening and the glovebox are open for work area. People have posted that 47-53 A-D trucks have no problems with after-market electric wiper motors.
However, I think that there is no after-market electric wiper motor that will fit with an original 1954/55 A-D (Chevrolet) radio/speaker. The original GM accessory 2-speed 54/55 6v electric wiper motor works fine with the standard radio. GMC ND 54/55 trucks do not have the same problem with after-market electric wiper motors.

I recommend the Newport electric wiper motor.

If anyone has experience with these I would be interested to hear from you as I am considering them for my truck, a 1951 GMC
