This 216 is in my 1950 3600 I would like to know if this is the original engine or a replacement, after the original would have more than likely met the all too common babbit rod bearing death.
3835497 I found this to be 1942-51? 216 nothing I didn't already know and pretty vaige at that.
gaa709675 this is the important one could someone PLEASE decode it and tell me the source of information also.
also I decoded the vin# and what state is/was the norwood factory in, and it appears to have been # 1001 off the assembly line, which is a nice touch.
Thanks

3835497 was used on 1948-1951 216s

GAA709675 Looks like you have a 1949 passenger car 216 engine.

1949 engine serial number information.
