I would like to get my stuff from the bone yard, and was wondering if anyone has suggestions on the best donor vehicle, and tips on how to mount them would be great. I found a late 90's era extended cab Chevy and took all of the belts out of the back. I installed a piece of angle iron (1/4" thick, 1.5" deep) to the perches for the tank. This is where the seat belt recepticles mounted.
The lower part of the seat belt mounted just inside the door panel on the floor board. The upper part mounted up in the B panel with a large washer. It may not be the safest, but it is better than simple lap belts. I'll try to post some pics next week...I'm away from the truck right now.

It is a split bench and has all the belts incorporated into it. Don't know about the mounting or if it clears the tunnel but it should. How hard could it be to drill new mounting holes anyway? Of course you need to move the gas tank out of the cab. | | |
