Anybody put belts in their 60's vintage truck? I would like to get my stuff from the bone yard, and was wondering if anyone has suggestions on the best donor vehicle, and tips on how to mount them would be great. Thanks!

I personally would find a 70's chevy truck and cut out around the mounts a couple inches for the shoulder strap, kinda hard to fit a wrench in there, and weld it in. for the floor you could just use a big washer and nut back. it would look stock and be pretty cheap.

i just put a three point retractable belt in the 62. got it from dan's classic. it was 85 bucks and was simple to install. i found a install page for a company called juliano's and applied them to my own intall. a trick i figured out was to use some jb weld to connect the nut to the washer that was going into the body where the shoulder belt connected..... made it much easier. slid it into the body by taping it onto the end of a crowbar...

I moved the tank under the bed (to mount seat belts, it helps...)

I found a late 90's era extended cab Chevy and took all of the belts out of the back. I installed a piece of angle iron (1/4" thick, 1.5" deep) to the perches for the tank. This is where the seat belt recepticles mounted.

The lower part of the seat belt mounted just inside the door panel on the floor board. The upper part mounted up in the B panel with a large washer. It may not be the safest, but it is better than simple lap belts. I'll try to post some pics next week...I'm away from the truck right now.

I've got a 66 and am looking at a seat from a 2000 & up Silverado. The overall dim's are the same. It is a split bench and has all the belts incorporated into it. Don't know about the mounting or if it clears the tunnel but it should. How hard could it be to drill new mounting holes anyway? Of course you need to move the gas tank out of the cab.
