I finally, after a dozen years, put an authentic ignition switch--with backing plate--in my '50 3100. What I can't figure out is what goes around the key tumbler that's sticking through the hole in the dash? It looks unfinished, just the tumbler sticking through the hole, but I can't find any part in any of the parts catalogues (American Classic, Jim Carter's, et al) that address this. Any help? Thanks.

On My 52 it also just sticks through the hole I think it's because you can put a lamp in the switch bracket and the light will show thru the opening.

Yep, the early trucks were kind of crudely put together there. I thought someone had put the wrong ingnition switch in the truck when I first brought it home.
