So I bought a differential for my 1950 truck off a guy on Craigslist. Its the Ford 9 inch style, where it removes from the front (basicly torque tube style but with a normal driveshaft). Anyway, the pinion seal is junk, and when I look the seal up on Napa it lists it for 2-3 different axles.

The only things I know about the truck are that its a 1/2 ton, and supposedly a 1960, however the ring gear says 1962 on it. Gear ratio is 3.90 and the only number on the seal is 3776800 K which comes up with nothing on google. Anybody know which axle this was from?

Dana axles were available in these trucks, LMC shows them as the posi-trac axle. But if the chunk comes out the front like a Ford 9", then it's not a Dana. It's probably the Eaton axle. I did a little digging and found that pinion seal number on the National seal cross reference. Just had to drop the K at the end. National shows it as a GM seal and crosses it to their 6818. They show that seal to fit '53-'62 with the HO33 and HO35 axle. Hope that helps.

So then it looks like the 2nd seal listed on their site is the one I need, the 1st design one. Thanks for your help!
