So 8 months ago i bought a 65 c20. The previous owner had put a different seat into it. It does not look or fit properly.

So today while at the wrecker, I found a 68 chev c20 with a stock bench seat in it. It appears it should fit properly, But before i go pay the wrecker $50 and have it re done. I just want to make sure im doing the right thing.

The truck is a toy, and not driven daily. I want it to be as stock as possible.

so my question.......

Is everyone with a stock bench seat happy with it? will the seat from a 68 fit like a stock 65 seat?

thanks and sorry for the long post.

The '60-'66 Chevy/GMC factory bench seats are the same, but slightly different than the '67-'72 Chevy/GMC bench seats. If the later years fit, I guess you can use one, however, to ensure a proper fit, I would try to find a factory bench seat from a '60-'66 Chevy/GMC truck, to be sure. Also, there two different seats available...standard and Custom Comfort, which has thicker padding & fill.

I found one for free on craigs list in my area a few months ago. Check your local area and you may find a '60-'66 Chevy/GMC one for less than $50.00. I have had several reupholstered and I believe them to be a good quality, fit and finish for these trucks. Good luck.
