I thought I would ask the people that know so much more then me. I have a 38 GMC that I am having trouble getting the rubber grommets to work for my gas tank filler neck. What is the proper way to install these rubber grommets.

I keep a spray bottle filled with dish soap and water, rather heavy on the soap.
It makes any type of rubber fitting easier to work into place.

It also works well for checking leaks on natural lines, propane fittings and another suspected vapor leaks.
