| | | | Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 239 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2009 Posts: 239 | I have the opportunity to purchase some original wheels for my 53 1/2 ton truck today. The individual offering the wheels stated he has several 3 clip and 6 clip styles. All the wheels are 16x5 6 lug.
I have read a lot of information in the Tech Tips area and TruckCamper43's answer in the thread below.
My question is, what wheels are appropriate for my 53? The 3 clip? 6 clip? and what about the various windows? Does it matter?

This drawing shows four "windows" on a 16" 1953 wheel. He had several more available and some for later model trucks. I think this because the wheel had an extra wave (or ridge) between the lug nut holes and the windows (or slots). I told him to advertise them here. Also if anyone is interested I can give you his phone number.
