The first set of block numbers are:
CON 3 G98 (behind the starter) 3738307 (near the distributor)
I think this is a 1958 235
The second engine I have is:
CON 3 F229 (behind the starter)3764476 (near the distributor)
I have no clue the orgin of this engine
Any help you guys can offer would of great help!

9 = 8th day
8 = 1958
3738307 = 58-60 (and, maybe later) passenger car block??
F229
F = 6 = June
22 = 22nd day
9 = 1959
3764476 = 56-62 truck block??
The question marks just mean that the information came from the Internet, not from a GM manual.

There should also be numbers stamped on the pad just aft of the distributor. These should tell you the engine assembly plant (F for Flint and T for Tonawonda), the engine assembly month and day, and the use.
IE: my '57 car engine is T1026FC
T= Tonawonda
10 = Oct
26 = 26th
FC = 4 barrel w/powerglide
Since the block casting date was 56, I know this engine was assembled 26 Oct 1956.
