I need some park lights.
I have no idea what year my truck is? 42ish

It has rubber rear window seal and rubber seal around the gas filler, wind out front window.

Hi Wombat,

42 is a tough year as they used what they had during the war. How's about you post a picture or two of your headlight/parklight housings and I can tell you what year you have as far as the park light housings go.

All years had the rubber rear window seal, but the early ones have a pot metal casing around that. The front window winds out on all of them 38?-47first.

I have a 42 and it has characteristics of both 41 and 46 so there is no sure thing with the war-time built trucks in my estimation.

Also, do you have the vin plate? Either on passenger side cowl under hood, or on the firewall, inside under the dash. If so post the numbers on that and it will identify your year.

Most are using photobucket or a simular photo storage website, then linking to the address...in other words, when you have the pictures uploaded to photobucket for instance, when you are on the picture in question, you can copy the link out of the address line, and post it here....OR.. just send it to me and I'll let you know what you have if I can see what I need to clearly. I had a futher look for the vin but no luck yet. is it stamped some where?
i saw nothing under the dash, where should i be looking.

it is a credit card sized plate, either on the firewall, inside just under the dash, centered..visible when looking in from the doors, or on the passenger side cowl, under the hood when you lift it up, just above the fender area. Either one place or the other, or it has been removed. Both locations you should see two small holes, diagonally opposed, as the plates are attached with just two opposite corners. Hi Wombat,

Well, unfortunately, I can't tell anything for sure based on the pictures. Look for the pot metal ring around the back of the back window which would make your truck early, possibly 41, but maybe early 42. No key in either door (unless it is because it is foreign) means it is early, probably early 42. US ones had a single key entry on the passenger door just below the door handle on 42(most)- 47e. 41's had the key in the handle. Based on the grill painted and the widened fender wells, that makes it almost sure to be war-time built, eliminating 41 and 46. 42-45 is a pretty safe guess and I would lean toward 42.

At least that helps you decide on your parking light decision. I didn't know you were needing the whole assembly, thinking you needed just the lenses, but they should be pretty easy to come by on ebay. Check the condition of your headlight housings as they are somewhat prone to rust. You might find it wise to get two full headlight buckets with parking assemblys together 42-46.

Hope this helps, and wish I could be more definite. Hope you can locate the vin. This may also be different with an Australian version.

it has rubber around rear window seal and a lock just below the handle on the RHS door. The front fenders are cut right back too.

Do i need the whole park light assembly to suit the 42-46?

Yes, that is correct you need the whole assembly.

The lack of a pot metal ring around the back window, and the lock below the door handle indicates that it is 42 at the earliest.
