I have 58 anniversary edition that was two-tone gold and white or ivory, inside and out. I am trying to match the original as closely as possible. I am assuming the gold is "anniversary gold" used in 1958 across GM models - would this be a reasonable assumption? If so, what codes would I need in order get new paint correctly mixed?

I am assuming the white is the pure white used on 1958 trucks, but other GM anniversary vehicles were combined with a color called honey biege, and I suppose bombay ivory may have been used....any thoughts??

I have the same color combo on my truck. As far as answering your question I don't really know. Since there is no paint code for this combo you're guess is as good as mine.

On my ID plate where the paint ID is usually stamped mine is stamped "SPEC". Is yours stamped this way as well?

I have always assumed that it was Anniversary Gold and Bombay Ivory. The ivory color on mine seems lighter than the Honey Beige that I have seen on some of the Impalas.

If you find anymore info about this color combo please let me know. I'm curious is yours a 3100 or a 3200?

I think the assumption that the gold is anniversary gold is probably correct. I agree in the pictures I've seen of cars with honey beige as the complimentary color, the beige does not look like what I think is the origianl paint on mine (too dark/yellowish).

Bombay ivory is a high likelihood, but the reason I still think pure white is a possibility is that it was a standard color for 1958, and I thought maybe they just pulled some of these off the line and added the gold (seems like I may have white/ivory underneath the gold). My interior seems more white than ivory.

Mine is a 3100, V8, 3spd, custom cab, radio delete - V358A115422.

Old Gold

I have my '58 down to pieces and the cab has been stripped. My best guess is that original colors were in fact anniversary gold and honey biege, the combination used on the impalas of the same year. I used 1958 chevy car paint chips to verify against the first layers of paint...also had bombay ivory chip and it was off.

I am still in search of a pattern from which to have an upholsterer make an original custom cab anniversary edition seat cover (sms has the original fabrics). If your truck still has the original seat cover, I'd really appreciate some measurements from which to reconstruct...thx.

Bombay Ivory & Artic Beige are shown on this 1958 sheet. But, the anniversary gold is probably not the "Golden Yellow"?

Anniversary Gold was a special color, never seen it on a paint supplier 58 color sheet, but see here for color lists for cars, and the list here, where the gold is listed for 58 and 62 with different codes and appearance, and you'll find the light color is either Honey Beige or Arctic White

not much point in worring about names from 50 years ago, need to find someone that can scan existing original paint and translate that to a suitable code for a modern paint unless you can track something from that 'corvetteattitude' list of numbers

If anyone wants to try to obtain a modern code/formula, PPG has a paint library that tries to help with their old codes (maybe at 1-800-647-6050).

I have a picture of an original seat that I used for my re-upholstery job. It's probably even the color combination you are looking for. I got the picture from someone here on this site so I don't want to take any credit. Give me an email adress and I'll send you picture. I don't know how to post pictures.

my PPG book lists 21526 as the offset color for Anniversary Gold 1958
