My name is Russell Miller and I live in Baytown, Texas.
I have had a '49 Chevy Fleetline for about 20 years and it has been to all stages from lowrider with flamethrowers to it's present stage..a blown gasser.
I started looking for and old truck to pull it around with and found this dually on ebay. After winning it I had to find someone to bring it to me in Texas all the way from Virgina. Well after I got it here I started to do some research on these type of trucks and found the stovebolt page...man do I ever appreciate all the info I have gotten from ya'll!!
I learned that the engine was replaced with a 228 G.M.C. and that this truck was sort of a misfit, being that it had different parts on it other than '49 parts.
It has a 90 M.P.H. speedo in it, and also the doors have the push button handles. I built a new wooden bed because the other one was too far gone, and while I was at it I added a tool box and put a fuel cell in it to get the tank out from behind the seat. I get a LOT of attention in this truck and it is a blast to drive!
