During assembly does the internal shift arm spring take one complete turn on the shaft for arm tension or less? My spring had slipped off the shift arm ear and uncoiled thus the need to rebuild. Sure isn't many moving parts inside,but I want to make sure I don't over tension the spring.

These shifter boxes seem so simple, but it appears that the settings and clearances are critical. I put the spring on with one turn, and latched the straight end around the "dog" that moves in between the gates. This place tension on both shifter arms. However, I'm not certain that it is on correctly. It's working reasonably well. Does anyone have any closeup pics of this box inside? The one picture I have found in a manual is very difficult to make out how the spring is set.

So, that still doesn't help with our question. And, with one turn it seems like it will operatye just fine, but I'd like to be sure.
