It is a 250 six cylinder. Couple of questions. I know the harmonic balancer must be removed with a puller, but how do I re-install it? I thought I could thread a bolt into the end of the crank and pull it back onto the crank with the bolt, but the crank does not have a threaded hole in the end. So, how do you re-install a harmonic balancer? Second, are there any tricks to installing the rear seal? Will it be necessary to remove the rear main cap and loosen all other main caps so I can pull the crank away from the block a little? Or, can the top half of the seal usually be removed and replaced without loosening all main caps? Is the rear seal a real bear of a job? What have I gotten myself into? Tim

Clean the surfaces real good & use some rtv sealer on the balancer. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum
