My trucks are all later and use a different bellhousing than your '46. I'd wonder if you could swap to the '48 to '53 bellhousing to make this swap.

Call him again and ask him why you can't use an adapter plate rather than modifying a bellhousing. I would guess the input shaft isn't long enough to use an adapter. If that's the case you need a 47 and later bellhousing to send him to modify if you want to use your original pedals. | | |

I talked to him last week and he was building a bunch of adapter plates for people. You need to ask him why an adapter plate won't work for you.
You do not have to remove the engine to remove the bellhousing, but you do have to remove the flywheel.
John46, I thought you had already ordered the bellhousing from Jim Carter?
steveg, you got some pics of that saginaw bolted up to the stock 42 bellhousing? I don't see any way it would bolt up. | | |
