I need to see a 58-59 with a newer stepside bed. I am very interested in doing this but I really wanna see how its gonna look. I thought I saw one for sale one here but cant be sure. Also how much work goes into the bed before it can go on. Thanks in advance,

Trey

Hi Trey, the taskforce [55-59] models do REALLY look good with the 88-98 model bed on them.I have seen 3 that have been done and they where really sharp.I am currently building a 57 and have one of these beds that has already been coverted to fit so I'm not sure how much work went into it.Mine has had the front sides shaped to match the shape of the cab[AS THEY ARE THE SHAPE IS QUITE A BIT DIFFERENT] and has had the rear steps ,behind the wheels, removed a roll pan added ,and custom tailights frenched in[ I don't yet have the lights for them] so it looks like a LOT of work was put into it.I was told by the guy I got it from that he had put over $3000 in it then he found a Cameo bed and decided to use it instead.I also have a freind that has a 1950 AD model with the same bed on it and it looks sharp to.I don't have any pictures right now ,wish I could find the ones I took of those I saw, but they do look GOOD.Arch5807

You are the man, Thanks. Lookin at it I dont know if I would do that or not. Specially not put the time and effort into it. I might just keep my eye out for an older one...unless somebody desides to ship me one. lol

My son took a late model stepside bed off his 57. He would sell it cheap. We live close to Branson Mo. If your interested let me know and I will have him send you a link to some photos.
