Hello to all. I want to swap out the 4 speed floor shift to an automatic. Probably a th350 or 400--depending on which I find first. The truck is a 70 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive. I looked in previous forums and couldn't find any info --although i'm sure there's plenty somewhere. My question--can anyone tell me what all I need to do to get this done. What linkage I need?--new steering column? (I was going to put in a tilt style anyway) Will any year tranny work? What problems I may run into? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Matt

Your truck originally should have a 208 transfer case.Go to a company I belive the correct name is Trans Dapt .They have conversions for pretty much any thing .I'm in the process of a 4 spd to 700R4 and I want to use the 208 transfer.I belive all you change is the output of the trans to adapt to the transfer.Keep us posted and sorry I dont have a link to the site .
