I'm looking at putting a 49 cab on my 53 1/2 ton. I want to keep my doors in the change. I know I need to change out the door catches (strikers??), and that I will have an additional vent on the left side, but are there any other drastic differences that I am not seeing, and are there any other differences that will make this tougher or more difficult that I need to consider?

I found a pretty nice cab for a very reasonable price. What I'm building won't be perfectly original, so a 49 cab on a 53 truck should be fine. I guess I'm the one who has to be happy, right?

That vent on the driver's side is real nice on a hot day.

Most of the rest of my panels are good to go, so now I can start on this cab. I had done a bunch of stuff to my original cab, but wasn't happy with it. It would be a good street rod cab or maybe someone else has more patience/tolerance, but I feel better with this. Guess I can sell the old one at some point.
