Starts great cold. Drive for 20 minutes, park and then cranks real slow.
Battery tests good. rebuilt generator and matched regulator. Have not touched the starter.

Joe,
- 216/235 engine?
- 6v or 12v?
If 6v:
- weak starter (works OK when cold but gets weaker when warm)
- wrong battery cables for 6v - use 0 (1/0) or 00 (2/0) gauge cables (12v cables are usually 6 gauge)

I have the right cables.
It is a 235 cu inch , 6 volt.
When it does not start, if I check the battery, the cells are all up and good.
