just wondering if anyone knows anybody doing a set of bolt in conversion parts to fit a small block chevy into a 39 truck??

You cut the crossmember to the width of the frame and then weld in place. SB Chevy fits fine between frame rails.

They come with directions and measurements. The only problem is if you use the HEI distributor you will have to make a slight indent in the fire wall for the cap to clear. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 47 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 47 | Currently installing a 350 with a short tail 350 trans behind it in a 39 1/2 ton. Using a cp mount system that fits with a little work to narrow to fit frame. Another issue is getting exhaust to fit in frame area and clear steering box if you intend on using the original front end. You can fit it in to clear steering box and clear the radiator. It will be close but can be done. Using a rear end out of early Camaro that fits . Just had driveline made and working out rest of issues.
Ed | | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 460 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 460 | 3B was just here the other day talking about different cross members and various other modifications folks have done to their trucks for conversion to V-8s and knowing Bobb he is a wealth of information on all things GM and would be a lot of help to you... unfortunately I don't have a lot of advice to give you as my '37 was purchased the way it sits, 350 already installed... I had nothing to do with that conversion and given my mechanic abilities it's probably a pretty good thing too!  If anyone can give you good accurate information on the subject it would be him... he usually lurks around these areas of the forum so hopefully he'll spot this and respond... if not send him an PM and he'll have you on the right track in no time...
