| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 22 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 22 | One has 340 gears, another 390's and the other a LSD. One has 11"X1-1/2" brakes and I haven't lugged the complete one out yet that has the LSD. Can I install the LSD with any of the gear sets? How about the late brakes? All look interchangable but the later axel is much wider than the other two that are around 56" backing to backing plates. One has an integral stud on the pumpkin for a panard bar. I guess that the axels are from 50's-60's pickups thanks

It will depend on what gear the LSD is set up for as the what can be run on it. The Truck 12 bolt ran from '63 to about '76 (I have seen them in later trucks, up to '80) and came in 5 lug ('71 and later 2wd) and 6 lug ('63-'70 2wd and all 4x4), as well as 2 different axle spline configurations ('63-mid '65 are 17 spline, later are 30 spline).
