I am attempting to remove the windshield regulator on my 1938 truck. I can only get to one of the two attachment screws/nuts for the unit under the dash. Do I have to remove the entire cowl vent mechanism to get at this unit? I have one of the two screws/nuts loose but now I can't get it all the way off cuz I can't get access to the stove bolt head to finish getting the nut off. Second attachment site is even harder to get to. Any of you guys have any tips to help this frustrated HB CA stovebolter? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Have you removed the glove box? I have used a very long slotted screewdriver and with leverage on the slotted screw, been able to remove the square nuts off the firewall side. I have angle screwdrivers, but am unable to apply pressure to keep em from spinning. Spray lube them good, used plywood and rags for neck support good lighting and patience. The last parts truck I dissembled, I drilled a hole in the dash and was able to stick the screwdriver directly into the slot. But that was a parts truck. I guess as a last resort you could do the same, but then will need to deal with an extra hole in the dash.
