I am now looking at radiators. Been thinking of a cross flow aluminum or something like that. The original radiator is beyond repair, even saving the tanks as per the radiator repair shop. If not this route, has any one used a radiator from salvage yard that fits with minimum fabracating?

I'd choose a QUALITY aftermarket radiator. 3 or 4-core. No less. Even if it costs $300+. I replaced my stock "hotwheels" radiator in my '66 stepside after running it for a year, constantly bringing the temp gauge up over the halfway. Now the temp gauge STRUGGLES to make it 1/4 way -ftyler | | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 587 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 587 | Problem with newer rads is width. Most old trucks with vertical rads are narrower and no place to put new type unless you "hack-away" at metal. You can get new rads for these old trucks, just get the one for the 2-ton. It has more core and still fits in same space. Check vendors for these.

I second G.L.'s recommendation! It'll be worth the $$!
Especially with a 302 GMC to take care of!
It's a shame to look under the hood of an old vehicle and see some junkyard radiator butchered in.
It's kind of like getting a shot; it hurts for a little while, but you're better off in the long run!
