I have a '56 235 truck engine with 1/2" wide harmonic balancer and generator pulleys. To avoid moving the radiator in my '54 3100, I've ordered a short shaft water pump from Patrick's with a 3/8" wide pulley; a 1/2" wide pulley is not available.
Can I use a 3/8" wide belt with this setup or must I find a 3/8" harmonic balancer and generator pulley?

You might try and find one of these guys. We have one in California who specializes in Chevy Cars and might have a balancer and pully you could use. The parts he sells were manufactured by GM. at one time. I still might have his number here. I am sure all the pulleys are the same on each engine. 62Blue Don
