Is the hole in the block for the road draft tube in the same spot on a 216 and 235 and how many different road draft tubes are there,I am putting the splash pans back on in my 37 and even though I have a road draft tube with no cap it looks like it wont come out the same hole in the 37 splash pan. I know I can just relocate the hole in the pan but what years of road draft tube will I need to go through the original hole in the splash pan.

I know that the draft tube from my 216 fit in my 261, so chances are they are all the same.

It looks like the road draft tube I have drops down a little back from the hole in the splash pan but since I have not actually tried to install the pan I am not 100 percent certain they are different but was wanting to know if any one actually knew if I was going to need a 37 road draft tube.

What I meant about the hole in the block is does anyone know if its the same distance from the front of the motor on both blocks,I was at a junkyard saturday looking at a 37 1 1/2 ton to see if there was a bracket for the front of the pans but it had nothing but I did notice the bracket that holds the road draft tube still was in front of the tube on the 216 and its on the rear of the tube on the 235 I have in my 37. Should of grabbed it but I did not have a rubber mallet with me to try to knock it loose and it looked rough since the hood rotted off since the last time I was there in the late 70s and when I first went back 9 years ago so I might be going back to get it soon.
