I can't get the wipers to work right and I need to check vacuum first. I may just switch to an electric wiper mtor. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 | 17-22" on a stock engine.
The vacuum wiper motor has a layer of grease on the diaphragm, which hardens with age. For a quick fix, squirt some silicone spray in the vacuum port on the wiper motor and let it set to soften the grease. If the diaphragm isn't broken, this will usually bring the wipers back to life.
