Try advanceing the timing a few degrees first & see if that helps. If not check the accel pump by looking down the throat of the carb with the engine off. Work the throttle from idle position. A stream of gas should squirt in to the throat each time
. Pull the top off the carb & make sure the float level is correct. Make sure the power valve rod goes into the hole & knocks the ball off it's seat. Look at the main jet & see what size is stamped on it. It should be 055-058 for a 235. Sometimes the rebuilders mix up parts & it could be to small of a jet.
