i was at the shop a bit ago, and my '61 block measures 1-4; 1.965, 2.030, 2.090, 2.150. the cam that came out of it is a gm 52 3836127. also, the ref book lists the rods @ 11.474, but mine are 11.31. diff length bec it's a '56 head? scratch-scratch-scratch | | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | 1954 was the change over year, early were small journal, late were large. Yours will be large.
I am not sure why the push rod lengths given in the books never seem the same as an actual push rod, who knows where they were measuring from.

and, while patrick's lists the diff between grind/int/ext/lift with all being 3/4, what's the 'rumpy' mean in relation to the 'mild' and 3/4? and while i'm sure the science has something to do with it, the adjectives don't have an equivalent in my head | | |
