Called Napa to find me a signal switch for a 63 GMC Sub 4x4 and they say not available...only the repair kit ( this I think is a return cam repair ) what other years should work?

Any more info on this issue would be appreciated.

Shee Mar lists a switch for the 63 GMC, but it needs modification, and to call for details. The part number is SM197. The link is in my previous post to you.

On the Chevys I've only run into a couple of variations which seems to agree with Shee Mar parts list. The placement of the mounting screws and the wiring. The six wires is correct for a Chevy, any ways. I just double checked Shee Mars listing and see that the SM197 is used on all of our GMCs, and only the 63 Chevy, so I'm kind of curious about the mod now. Keeps us updated.

OK Larry I got the photo of the SM197 and it looks right except for the wiring harness. I thought I would remember exactly what mine looked like since I just had the wheel off 2 weeks ago. So since the adjustments I made to mine corrected the problem and it works OK I'll just keep the photo Shee Mars sent me for future reference. However when I put the wheel back I am two teeth to the right so I will have to pull the wheel again and I will take a photo of my switch this time. Learn the hard way!!!

Thanks again...EB

This question is a little late, but what is the problem with your turn signal that it needs to be replaced?

If the turn signal works, but is not turning the turn lights off after the turn is made. Then the problem is not replacing the turn signal switch, all that needs to be replaced is the canceling cam. It is common for the canceling cams seem to break.

Larry...been away...had to pull the wheel to repair the slack in the 1st bowl. One of the screws holding down the turn signal switch was missing and the others loose. Fixed the loose bowl and the switch which is fine. The question was academic...who has a replacement switch?. There are repair kits out there as you suggest.
