I've been searching for the hammertone brown used on the interiors of 1946 trucks. I can find it at Jim Carter and Chev's of the 40's but nobody will ship it into Canada. It was suggested I check out a Dupont Hammertone Paint but the colour looks to be way off. They have a brown, copper, silver and black and none are even close to pictures I have seen. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get this paint across the border?

My other option was to find a fellow bolter from Buffalo/Niagara area and have the paint shipped to them and I would go pick it up and bring it over myself.

Any thoughts?

46,
Check your Lowes/Home Depot for Rustoleum/Tremclad. They do make a Hammertone. Whether its what you want or need or color correct is your call. I travel to the Malone NY area monthly if thats a help. Have fun and good luck

if it comes to it you can paint any color to get the texture then paint the correct color over it, it works pretty good.

Your local jobber should have a color reader that can match (produce a recipie) any color; they got them at most paint stores. My jobber at PPG Ditzler had one.
