I am looking to put a 64-66 custom cab steering wheel into my 64.
Does anyone have the dimensions of this particular wheel. How big around, how deep?

You guys have any idea where a feller could get the horn button part of that wheel would you?

It's the same wheel and horn ring as a '59 Chevrolet Bel Air car or El Camino, so search around for one of those on eBay or whatever, and one should turn up once in awhile.

Licensed to kill, not sure it that is the wheel in question. The horn ring that I have has a round center. Do you know if yours is original? Maybe mine is not?
Either way the big question is what is the diameter, I just don't need the big round one from a non-power steering truck as now I have power steering and do not want (or need) one that big. But I do want it to look correct.

Rusty, sorry for the delay. Every time I went to the shop I forgot to measure the wheel. Anyway, mine is 17" across and is a factory custom steering wheel.

There is a company that can reduce the size of a classic steering wheel to a more modern circumference. I don't happen to have a link handy at the moment, but do recall it from my internet/magazine travels. Maybe a place like Imapala Bob's might get you a quick answer to that. And yes, it will cost money. But so will the correct original small steering wheel. drive

I see that they make smaller ones for like a 57 bel air.. here is the link. I am not sure if it helps or not. Going off what Revoh said maybe they make say a 15" for a 59..

Rusty,

The wheel in the pic is for a custom cab, The regular cab had the round center ring for the horn.

Any chance that there could have been two different styles of custom wheels.
I know that the basic wheel has a round center but it only has a round center.
I have a horn button that I believe is for a custom wheel. While it does have a round center it also has the half circle outer ring as well.
While in KC for the show I saw one custom cab that had a smaller wheel with this same horn set up. Only problem is that I did not ask questions then. If it wasn't a true custom cab wheel it sure fit like it could be factory.
So here I am now.

Yes. Most of the trucks used the '59 Chevy type center and horn ring steering wheel on the Custom Cab, but in '66 they went to one with a round center and horn ring.

The '60-'65 Chevy truck Custom wheel & chrome horn ring are the same, but different than the '66 Chevy truck Custom wheel & chrome horn ring. Also, many people say the car wheels & horn ring are the same, but they are not. I have a few of each and they are not the same, so beware when purchasing one.

I think the novas had the same as the '66 and can readily be found on Nova sites.
