Problem is I really don't know how much of a rake I should go with. Anyone out there have any ideas a good rake position (as fare as degrees)? All the hotrod sites say a 3 degree rake is good. I just don't want to end up looking like a stink bug driving down the street.

Old trucks were designed to run level. The lines don't look right with the body at some foolish-looking angle. You don't get any gas mileage advantage trying to run one downhill all the time.

I am installing a TCI IFS. I opted for the stock spindles because everyone I spoke with said the 2" drop was too much. I am also replacing the rear leaf spring with a TCI leaf spring kit. I have a 77 firebird rear axle that I plan on installing. The cross member I am installing must sit level. I need estimate what my rake will end up being so my cross-member doesn't end up sitting uneven.
Everything you know is wrong.
