I have a 56 GMC with a spicer 60 rear end, and i replaced the axle seal but now the gasket at the end of the line, the one that seals between the hub and axle flange is leaking.

Thanks,
Dave

Any auto parts store should have them, they were the same for many years right up to the newer full floating axles.

The Spicer parts are hard to find. Most of the parts house computers show GMC and Chevy with the same axle, brakes, brake cables, etc. in those years. While some GMCs used the corporate axle, most did not. You'll need to find a parts man willing to get out the books and hunt for it.

Our over the road trucks come with silicone and that's all we've been using for quite a few years. If it oozes out, a razor blade will cut it to where it won't show.

The gaskets are aluminum sheet of the proper thickness. A metal seal should only be used once. I'm sure the silicone would work fine if you wanted to use the old gaskets.

I'll second that, well.. I don't have any over the road trucks,
but this is the "modern" method.
